PREMIER LEAGUE: Arsenal vs Burnley – A tribute to Arsene Wenger & Player ratings

It was the final home game of Arsene Wenger’s 22 year reign at the Club. The Legendary manager who totally transformed our club Arsenal has decided to step down & it was his final game incharge at Emirates ( the stadium he built). Our most successful manager deserved a classy send off and he duly got it. Both Arsenal & Burnley teams gave him the guard of honour before the game. Premier league paid their respects as a Legendary Manager who transformed English football said goodbye to the club he dedicated his life for. Fans kept chanting his name & Club showed their class by presenting him with the invincibles trophy. He deserves all this & it was a memorable send off for a Hero. Players needed to give him a great farewell with a performance & they were up for the task as we smashed 5 past Burnley in a game where there could have been so many more. We totally dominated the game from start to finish & our defence was hardly troubled. Aubameyang got a brace & created one and Laca scored one & created another showcasing their fine form lately. Kolasinac & Iwobi were other players on the scoresheet who had a fine game too. Everybody played well for the boss on the day. Bellerin got 2 assists showing some good crossing surprisingly, Wilshere created one too who had an eventful game. It was another fine performance by our new young CB partnership of Mavropanos & Chambers. Mertesacker came on for his last game at the emirates too after giving farewell to our iconic kitman Vic Akers who also did his job for the last time at Emirates. Now i am going to write few words for Wenger,

‘He’s a fatherly figure for everyone who knows about football. He totally transformed English football when he joined Arsenal. His 22 years have been epic & he steps down as the most successful manager in Arsenals history. He is a man known for his principles, class & selflessness. He dedicated his life to football & more importantly to our club Arsenal which he loves dearly. He is just like us who wants Arsenal to do good. He deserves all the respect coming his way as he gave us some of the best years. I have only known Arsenal with wenger in charge & his style of football made me fell in love with the game. He is Arsenal’s godfather who made our club global & took us in right direction. He gave us our greatest team & achievement i.e the Invincibles and added various trophies over the years. He gave us our stadium Emirates showing his dedication & vision. Gave us WengerBall.

I thank him with all of my heart for his service towards Arsenal. I want him to know we all love him & we will miss him. I hope he joins Arsenal again in some capacity or keeps visiting the club which is his home. Thank you Arsene, you are a Hero’ .

I also would like to thank mertesacker who played his last home game for the club & is retiring. He will join the academy as a coach. I also would like to thank our iconic kitman Vic Akers for his service to the club. You will all be remembered & Missed. On to the ratings now,

Ratings :

Cech – 7

Wasn’t troubled much but his positioning was good whenever needed.

Bellerin – 8

Created two goals & attacked really well. Didn’t have to do much defensively. Good game for him after that horror against atletico.

Chambers – 7.5

Another good commanding display by the English man. He is slowly growing into a reliable CB.

Mavropanos – 8

Another classy performance by the young greek. He gave his all & showed his strengths. Wasn’t troubled much & handled his work with ease.

Kolasinac – 8

Scored a rocket & attacked well combining well with others in the process. Wasn’t troubled defensively.

Wilshere – 8

Created a very good goal & had an impressive game where he passed really well. He kept opening spaces in midfield with his intelligence & showed his quality.

Xhaka – 7

Another solid performance by xhaka where he did everything good. Nothing fancy but distributed the ball well along with supporting his teammates at times.

Mkhitaryan – 7.5

Good game by him where he looked very lively & came close to scoring twice. His linkup play was the highlight.

Iwobi – 8

Scored an unstoppable goal & looked good with his linkup. Looked energetic and never stopped running. Promising display by him.

Aubameyang – 9 (MOTM)

Man of the Match

Scored a Brace & created another. His pace and movement always troubled that stubborn Burnley defence as he kept toying with them. He is showing his quality in every game since joining & he could be a deadly weapon next season.

Lacazette – 8.5

Another terrific performance from a player who is in fine form. Created a very good goal & then scored another with a smart finish. He has been in tremendous form after coming back from that injury.

Ramsey – 6

Welbeck – 6

Mertesacker – 9

Thats all from my ratings. Thank you for reading & try interacting with us at Arsenal-ClockEndTalk on Facebook & Twitter. All your comments are welcomed and we appreciate them.
