PREMIER LEAGUE: Arsenal vs Huddersfield – Ratings

Another midweek game which looked easy on paper against a newly promoted Huddersfield at home , but no game is easy in premier league.

We started our strongest lineup like we did against spurs while we fans thought we might be resting some players for the big game on Saturday. We started with style & scored within 3 minutes with Lacazette expertly finishing a brilliant team move assisted beautifully by Ramsey where Xhaka & Özil were heavily involved. Then we controlled the game for another fifteen minutes & then the team went to sleep. They started playing sloppy football & kept giving the ball away foolishly. We were lucky to go into the break with 1 goal up as we had given all hope of scoring second by then & we were waiting to concede. Lacazette picked by a groin injury in the first half & was replaced by Giroud at the break. We started 2nd half in similar fashion as we finished 1st where there was serious lack of concentration & urgency. There were few players who kept playing in style like Özil , Ramsey & Koscielny. Then came the Mesut Özil masterclass where he created two quick fire & Sublime goals & Scored one in less than 4 minutes. Huddersfield simply couldn’t keep up with Özil who glided on the field & Looked unplayable. Giroud scored twice , Alexis got one & Ramsey, Kolasinac got assists as we put 5 past the opposition. It was our biggest victory of the season but there were some bad moments which should be taken care of in future games. This prepares us well for the big game against ManUtd on Saturday & builds up momentum. Lets hope we are at our full power on the day.

Ratings :

Cech – 7

Looked good & made some good saves when the team went to sleep. There was a dodgy save too but otherwise looked assured. Another clean sheet for him.

Koscielny – 8

Another Solid display by him as he kept us in the game at crucial time when the team lost their concentration. His coolness & intelligence was shown as he looked comfortable.

Mustafi – 7.5

Looked very good but tried some over ambitious things when the team lacked urgency. Defended well for the clean sheet.

Monreal – 7

Good game by him but went to sleep with others & showed some sloppy play which is unlike him. Made a crucial block & otherwise was reliable.

Bellerin – 6.5

Attacked well & defended well at times. Was a good outlet in the right but put some very bad crosses in the box where he got confused.

Ramsey- 8

Got 2 assists & looked sharp on the day. Combined well & showed his intelligence at times. Something to build on. Was later substituted for Jack as we tried to save him for Saturday.

Xhaka – 5

Started off nicely but Wasn’t convincing at all later as he showed serious lack of concentration in the middle of the park. Need to be mentally better & remove that sloppy play. Can do a lot better, you just can’t go to sleep when you are a goal up.

Kolasinac – 7

Went into some good situations attacking but looked confused at times & his decision making let him down. Defended well but sometimes didn’t track back. Got the assist where he could have easily scored. Looked very dangerous during our good spell.

Özil – 10 (MOTM)

Sensational & Faultless display by him where he showed his class. He showed how he is one of the best in the world. Killed the game in 3 minutes & was looking sharp from the beginning. Assisted 2, scored 1 and was exceptional with his play. Man of the Match hands down & we really should be sorting his contract situation.

Lacazette – 7

Scored the opener & looked sharp in the first half. Helped the team defensively & tried to be involved. Was substituted at HT with a groin problem.

Sanchez – 6

Took his goal well but otherwise was anonymous in the game. Gave the ball away far too much & whatever he tried didn’t come off. Looked good when we had our best spell but then was substituted.

Giroud – 8

Giroud came on as a HT substitute for Lacazette & scored two goals where he looked very sharp & could easily have had more. His presence in the box was vital & he would be eyeing a start on Saturday with Lacazette out.

Wilshere – 6

Welbeck – 6

Wilshere & Welbeck were late substitutes who didn’t have much to do but both looked sharp & full of running.

Thats all from my ratings. Thank you for reading & try interacting with us at Arsenal-ClockEndTalk on Facebook & Twitter. All your comments are welcomed and we appreciate them.
