PREMIER LEAGUE : Burnley vs Arsenal – Ratings

Another tough away visit to Burnley after a dodgy away form up till now in the season was on the cards. Surprisingly Burnley have been in very good form this season and a win for either side would have taken them into top 4. It was always going to be a difficult game as Burnley are a well drilled side who defend very well and play brilliantly as a team. We started almost a similar Lineup to that against Spurs, only absentee was Özil who missed out due to a Flu and Iwobi took his place.

First half they were all over us with their pressing & desire. We were mostly on the back foot but defended really well but had only a few attacking situations. Second half we came out with more desire, intelligence and certainly were the better team. We were denied a fair shout for penalty after a foul on Bellerin but eventually got another fair one towards the end which has been the case against Burnley in recent years. It was a very difficult game and Burnley probably deserved something but they can only blame themselves for the foolish foul that caused the penalty. It was a hard fought 3 points for us where we defended really well on a tough away game.

Ratings :

FIRST TEAM :

Cech – 7.5

Made 3 very good saves & commanded his box really well. Very good display & certainly looked back to his best.

Koscielny – 8

Very Solid display by him in a game where we defended well under pressure. One of the best players on the day where he came out with the ball well & defended with intelligence.

Mustafi – 8

Played like a leader on the day where he was always in control of every situation. His move in the centre of the back 3 has been a revelation & you have to credit wenger for that as he has looked immense since then. Defended with everything and was close for the man of the match.

Monreal – 7

Another good display by nacho but struggled at times with pace. Did well under pressure and was an assured presence in the defence.

Bellerin – 7

Defended really well & combined well with others attacking wise. Should have got the penalty for a foul on him but otherwise was a fitting display by him.

Ramsey- 7.5

Had a good game where he won us the penalty in the dying minutes. Ran a lot and supported the team in both defence & attack well. Should have scored in the first half from a Lacazette pass but otherwise was good.

Xhaka – 8

One of his best displays of the season i feel where he looked very intelligent with the ball. Didn’t take any unnecessary risks and kept it simple against Burnley’s high pressing. Tackled well & didn’t commit any mistakes as he looked perfect on the day.

Kolasinac – 7

Good display by the tank where nothing troubled him defensively and supported the attack well. Made some good runs but otherwise looked comfortable defensively.

Iwobi – 5

Had a very poor game where he ran a lot but was always wasteful in possession. He needs to keep the ball better & pass it well. Didn’t have any impact and has to do better.

Lacazette – 8.5 (MOTM)

It was an exemplary display by him where he didn’t put a foot wrong. My man of the match on the day where he looked very sharp on the turn and with his touches. Created 2-3 very good chances for the team which should have been buried. Was isolated mostly otherwise could have done more for his goalscoring.

Sanchez – 6

Took the winning penalty well under pressure but otherwise was very wasteful with the ball. Didn’t help the team defensively & always gave the ball away. Needs to improve otherwise should be dropped.

SUBSTITUTES:

Wilshere – 6

Welbeck – 6

Substitutes didn’t really had much to do but Wilshere looked sharp & good with the ball while Welbeck got some more minutes under his belt.

Thats all from my ratings. Thank you for reading & try interacting with us at Arsenal-ClockEndTalk on Facebook & Twitter. All your comments are welcomed and we appreciate them.
