PREMIER LEAGUE: Arsenal vs Brighton – Review & Ratings

As Arsene wenger completed 21 years at the club, we faced newly promoted Brighton at home. It was a game where 3 points mattered more than anything & we earned them well. Wenger broke another record in the process where he became the first premiership manager to beat 45 different opponents in the league surpassing Alex ferguson, it’s a great achievement & I congratulate him for both of his achievements. We didn’t disappoint wenger on his big day, as we started the game well & then went onto score in both halves of the game. Monreal got the first goal which anyone could have got on the day and then Iwobi put the game to bed in the second half after a delightful back heel from Sanchez. It was a game where we only wanted the job done, we didn’t try harder enough to score some more & brighton didn’t really bothered us apart from an odd chance. After this we go into the international break where we hope all our injured players our back on the other side of the break & we have a full squad available. Games will come thick & fast now so we need everyone at their full fitness levels, this break will certainly help us in that matter. There wasn’td anything fancy in the game & we got our well deserved points. I hope we continue our run now & move forward with confidence.

RATINGS :

FIRST TEAM :

Cech – 7

Didn’t really had much to do in the game but looked confident on every occasion, this 7 is more for his consistent performances in the past few weeks.

Holding – 7

Looked comfortable & confident after a long time (maybe his first goal for us in midweek filled him with confidence). Wenger did the right thing to drop him & built his confidence which we can clearly see is working. Hoping he continues this.

Mustafi – 7

Looked quite solid today, passing was good and was always available. Hoping he continues his good form & removes that odd rush of blood from his game.

Monreal – 8 (MOTM)

He was good , got his goal well after 4 years & it was very important too. Didn’t put a foot wrong & looked comfortable, Mr. Consistent for a reason. Was confident & is my man of the match mainly due to his goal.

Bellerin – 8

He had an excellent game where he was doing everything right. Attacked well, one can clearly see that he is working on his crosses and his positioning was good too. Defended well when needed too and was very close to being the best man where nobody set the world alight. Assisted tue first goal as well.

Ramsey – 6

He looked ok , was sloppy in his passing & didn’t look his usual sharp. Will definitely improve on this performance in future.

Xhaka – 6

He was ok too, improved on his last game but can certainly do better with his passing & distribution . Looks like he is gaining back his confidence soon & in time.

Kolasinac – 6

Looked sloppy defensively & his positioning was bad in the first half . Improved in the second half and finished the game strongly.

Iwobi – 7

He was sharp & intelligent with his play on the day. Took his goal really well with a brilliant finish after a beautiful pass by Sanchez. This performance can certainly encourage him to push for a first team place.

Lacazette – 7

Looked sharp & decisive in the game. Was very unlucky in the first half to not score after a bullet shot from outside the box. Kept trying hard to score but it didn’t come. Already looking like a class signing.

Alexis – 6.5

Was very poor in the first half as he gave many balls away & was indecisive in his play. Improved massively in the second half as he assisted Iwobi beautifully with a back heel for our 2nd, after that he was simply phenomenal. Needs to keep up his good game.

SUBSTITUTES:

Giroud – 6

Walcott – 6

Elneny – 6

Substitutes didn’t really had much to do in the game as we took the foot off later on.

Thats all from my review & ratings, I hope you enjoyed it.Thank you for reading & feel free to interact with us on your views. All the comments are welcomed.
